Illinois Pride: A Newcomer’s Reflection

As a relative newcomer to Illinois, Alan Lowe, Executive Director of the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library & Museum, has been impressed with the breadth and depth of Illinois’ contributions to America in many fields — in the political realm, in science, the arts, and more. Alan has an impressive history with the National Archives and Records (NARA). He has helped to oversee many Presidential libraries located throughout the nation. Most recently, before moving to Springfield, he served from 2009 –2016 as founding Director of the George W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum.

Alan will share his thoughts on many things Illinoisans should be proud of, including the political leadership the ALPLM will be highlighting in the special exhibit opening March 23, 2018 titled “From Illinois to the White House: Lincoln, Grant, Reagan, and Obama” as well as pointing out many other varied fields of endeavor.
