January Speakers

2020 is behind us and we want to start 2021 off on the right foot. Angie Ryan, Yoga Practitioner, will lead us through some breathing exercises we can do from anywhere to lower our stress levels. And then Cory Meyers, from SIU School of Medicine, will discuss with us the effects stress has on our bodies and how Eastern medicine unlocks the bodies' self-healing.

Stress is universal, it is an evolutionary gift of survival. However, the impact of stress on women's health-related issues cannot be overstated. In Eastern medicine, stress is often seen as either the root or fertilizer for many diseases that afflict women. Eastern Medicine has specific parameters for what is considered normal and pathologic regarding women's health. We will discuss the Eastern medicine medical paradigm, different treatments, and how women can utilize this medicine to achieve their best-self.

Our monthly programs are open to all IWIL members and their guests. Registration is FREE during COVID-19. Pre-registration is required by January 19.
