Have you ever been to one of THOSE meetings? You know, the boring board of directors’ meetings? No one joins a nonprofit board because they love reading bylaws, we join because we care about the mission of the organization. IWIL Members and their guests are invited to join Dr. Sarah Mackey to learn how you can lead as a member of a nonprofit’s board of directors to maximize the nonprofit’s ability to fulfill its mission. Attendees will leave with actionable steps to be an awesome board member.

ABOUT SARAH: Dr. Sarah Mackey serves as senior director of U.S. Transformation at Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI). She leads the organization’s transformational change to create a more effective service model and pursue a donor centric, collaborative resource development model across the federated network of 1,200 affiliates in the United States. Through her prior roles at HFHI, Sarah provided leadership on the affiliate services team and served as a resource development subject matter expert for affiliates throughout the United States. She also served as executive director of Habitat for Humanity of Sangamon County in Springfield, Illinois and on the board of directors for the Habitat for Humanity of Illinois. As a volunteer, Sarah travels and participates in Habitat’s building programs around the globe. Sarah received her doctorate of public administration, master of public administration, and graduate certificate in nonprofit management from the University of Illinois Springfield.

Our monthly programs are open to all IWIL members and their guests. Registration is FREE during COVID-19. Pre-registration is required by October 13.
